Press Release and DVD Cover

"After nearly a month and a half of anticipation, Kaizen will be shown to the public this Friday and Saturday in Pelican Rapids. Kaizen is a feature length movie following the Pelican Rapids boys’ basketball team on their run towards a State Championship. The film, written and directed by John Peter, features in-depth player interviews, locker room speeches, practices and more as well as all the intense and exciting in-game footage that made the tournament run so special. The film also features an entirely original soundtrack written by Peter specifically for this event.

The film will be shown at PRHS in the Fine Arts Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. on both Friday, May 15th and Saturday, May 16th. The event is FREE to the public. Peter will also be on KBRF (AM 1280) at 7:20 a.m. on Thursday, May 14th with Craig Olson to discuss the film. Reviews of the film can be found in last week’s Pelican Press as well as later this week in the Fergus Falls’ Daily Journal and on craigolsonsports.com."

Finished and Duplicating

I finished composing the last of the music yesterday and completed the final mix-down this evening. We (my wife and I) now move into post-production. Jay Ripley has done a fantastic job on the DVD cover which we will unveil on Wednesday right here. The Pelican Press helped with our printing of the covers and now my wife is stuffing the covers into the cases. We will begin duplicating the actual DVD early tomorrow morning.

Remember to be on the look-out for some media reviews of the film (last week's Pelican Press and later this week in the Daily Journal and craigolsonsports.com) and you can also check out my interview with Craig Olson on KBRF Radio (AM 1250) this Thursday at 7:20 a.m.

The boys' team will have their private showing this Wednesday night and then we will be in full preparation mode for this weekend. Be sure to check back every day this week as we'll have something new posted for you everyday.

DVD Cover and Kaizen Update

Things are a bit crazy right now as we are in the finishing stretch. I have completed composing all the music with the exception of the St. Bernards game, which I will complete in the next two days. Then it's just a final mix of the audio and the film will be finished and can move into post-production...replication and stuff like that.

Jay Ripley has finished the graphic design for the DVD cover. A sneak peak is above within the flyer for the event.

Also, people have begun asking how to obtain a copy of the film. Copies will be available at a suggested donation the nights of the public showings. Keep checking back for more updates.

What's happening with the Movie

Hi everyone,

Sorry I haven't been keeping up with this at all. I think the last thing we let you know was that player interviews had begun. A lot has happened since then.

I finished the editing portion of the movie about a week ago. Since then, I have done a full audio mix of the video portion and have begun composing the music for the film. Kaizen will contain a completely original soundtrack written specifically for the movie. I will hopefully do a video blog post in the next few days so you can see a little more how that works.

Some important things to know in the next few weeks.

Wednesday May 13th-Private Team Showing

Thursday May 14th- I will be on (
AM 1250, KBRF) at 7:20 a.m. with Craig Olson to discuss the premier of the film.

Friday and Saturday May 15th and 16th-Public Showings of Kaizen at the Pelican Rapids Fine Arts Auditorium (7:00 p.m.)

You can also be looking at your local newspapers as we lead up to the premier as the Pelican Press and the Fergus Falls Daily Journal, as well as CraigOlsonSports.com will be screening and writing reviews of the film.

Lots of excitement over the next few weeks. Stay tuned and we'll try to keep this more updated.
